Focus on the Future

All of Amphibian Conservation Alliance's efforts are built around the recognition that conserving amphibians worldwide is not just complex and difficult.  It is a perpetual and evolving task that must constantly include, at the very least:

  • Promotion of increased scientific understanding,
  • Advocacy of innovative conservation solutions, and
  • Education of tomorrow's decision-makers.

All of our programs and other operations reflect this future-focused belief.

Programs

  • Science Programs:  ACA continues to be the leading public entity that actively advocates continued and expanded funding for amphibian monitoring and research through the U.S. Congress' annual budgeting and appropriation processes.
  • Advocacy Programs:  Through our informal collaboration with World Wildlife Fund, ACA is working to develop and promote specific, viable and worthwhile amphibian conservation solutions in light of current scientific understanding, the political environment, and other constraints.
  • Education Programs:  Through our website, FROGS.ORG, ACA educates and motivates more than 3,000 people per day - about 1 million unique individuals per year - more than any other nonprofit amphibian conservation resource on the Internet, and the number of people we reach is growing.

Institution Building

Keeping in mind the perpetual aspect of amphibian conservation, ACA is working hard to fortify itself institutionally and to become an organization that can strongly promote amphibian conservation not just today but also in the many years to come. Toward that end, among other things:

  • ACA does the hard work necessary to recruit board members and other leaders who are very experienced at growing, managing and supporting nonprofit environmental groups.
  • ACA husbands its resources extremely efficiently by spending resources wisely and adhering to conservative accounting and money-management principles.
  • ACA is developing a stable community of businesses and people who can provide critical financial and grassroots support for our efforts in the many years ahead.

Our success depends on the support of communities, businesses and people like you, so please consider supporting ACA today!
